What does Sky High Memorials do?
Sky High Memorials offers an aerial release of cremated remains using a remote controlled model aircraft, where the proposed site and flying conditions allow.

Where can a flight take place?
Flights are considered individually.
Tell us your preferred location and we will discuss whether it is suitable and what permissions may be needed.
We have a number of suitable sites within 200 km of Melbourne GPO on file
Can our family be present?
Please tell Stephen how you would like to take part. He can explain what is possible at the chosen site, including where guests may safely watch.
How do we book a flight?
Call Stephen on 0418 662 557 to discuss the preferred location, timing and any special wishes.
He can then advise on feasibility, permissions and a written quote.
Permission to scatter ashes?
It is legal to scatter ashes into waterways in Victoria. Permission to overfly depends on the location and the authority or owner responsible for it.
Stephen can discuss the proposed site with you, but the required permissions and who obtains them must be confirmed before a booking is finalised.
Can a flight be filmed?
Family members are able to film although there is a standard 30 metre exclusion zone for anyone not directly associated with operating the aircraft.
Basic onboard footage to show the release is included as standard with Plan A and Plan B. A more elaborate production similar to the sample video is available at extra cost.
How do we provide the ashes?
Stephen can explain how and when to provide the cremated remains, and whether there are any limits or
preparation requirements for the aircraft being used.
How windy is too windy?
Stephen is a windy weather specialist. Depending on the site chosen our aeroplanes can operate safely in up to 60 kph breeze.
Showers, Rain, Mist, Fog?
Our aircraft cannot be operated safely in the rain. Showers, mist and fog can be waited out
What if weather is unsuitable?
The flight depends on safe conditions. If the weather or site conditions are unsuitable at the proposed time, Stephen will remain on site for the day until conditions improve. Worst case scenario is postponement and rescheduling.
Thunder and Lightning?
Thunderstorms usually blow through quite quickly therefore we wait until it has moved a safe distance away.
Night Flights?
Our aircraft cannot be flown at night
